Local Author and Owner of the Chillax Lounge, Jodie Pollock has released her new children’s book, “Amy The Cake Loving Cow." The Charters Towers newspaper interviewed her so locals could learn more about the new story. Here are our questions and her answers:

Q: What inspired you to publish your book?

A: My inspiration to publish the book stemmed from the enthusiastic feedback I received from friends around the globe who wished they could try my cupcakes, experience the rustic charm of our property, and meet Amy, who is not only a pivotal part of our business, The Chillax Lounge, but also it's face. Amy's adventures have always resonated with our audience, and I realised that a children's book could be a wonderful medium to extend this connection. By incorporating our beloved cupcake recipe into a fun and visually engaging story set in our home environment, I wanted to give readers everywhere the chance to create delicious memories alongside Amy and me.

Q: What can children learn from your book?

A: In "Amy The Cake Loving Cow", children are introduced to the delightful process of baking, starting from the basics. The book teaches them where ingredients come from, illustrating the connection between nature and the delicious treats we enjoy. It also guides them in an engaging way to practise reading and following instructions. Beyond the kitchen, the story encourages children to follow their dreams and embrace their creativity, highlighting the importance of pursuing one's passions with courage and imagination.

Q: What is your message to Charters Towers locals?

A: My message to everyone really who follows Amy and me: never stop learning and always be open to new ideas. I encourage everyone to remain curious and open, exploring new paths and possibilities that spark joy and inspiration.
