Charters Towers Regional Council have announced a special free event in celebration of Queensland Seniors Month, recognising the contributions seniors make to the community.

The free event will take place on Thursday, 31 October, from 9:30am at The World Theatre.

Council have stated that attendees will be greeted to morning tea, information booths, and a special screening of the film "Midas Man," which tells the story of Brian Epstein and his role in The Beatles' success.

Councillor Julie Mathews expressed her enthusiasm for the event and showed respect for local seniors.

“Seniors Month is a perfect opportunity to honour and appreciate the rich experiences and wisdom our senior community brings to Charters Towers,” she said.

“We’re thrilled to offer an event that celebrates their contributions.

“The World Theatre will be the ideal setting for this celebration and we hope the film ‘Midas Man’ provides an engaging and entertaining experience for our seniors, reflecting the vibrant spirit of their own lives and achievements.”

All seniors are encouraged by Council to RSVP by Monday, 28 October, to ensure they don’t miss out on the occasion.

For more information, contact Council on 4761 5300 or email events@charterstowers.qld.gov.au to confirm your attendance.
